I've lived & breathed sport since I was knee-high to a grasshopper!

My Love For Swimming Fuels My Coaching

During my time working in a PT facility, I saw too many people come back with the same injury, and it frustrated me. It was clear they weren't recognizing what was going wrong bio-mechanically or in their training. I wanted to change that, to help people understand what's happening in a way that resonates with them. As a coach, you have to speak the language of each individual student, - it's never a 'one way fits all' approach.

As an Art major who specialized in capturing human movement, I was drawn to the fluidity & rhythm of swimming in particular, & still, to this day find the quiet comfort in that. That eye for detail, coupled with a PT background has really helped me hone my coaching skills. In the 12+yrs I've been coaching swimming I've had the good fortune to coach a diverse range of clients-from professional athletes and budding Olympians to endurance athletes, rehabbers, and those simply looking to stay active as they age. Helping others is my passion, and I take great pride in the thought and care I put into my work.

My love for swimming fuels my coaching. My curiosity to push my own limits helps me connect with those who are testing theirs. I appreciate that. Together, we inspire each other.

In my own athletic pursuits, I've completed multiple half and full Ironmans, and I'm an avid downhill mountain biker, rock climber, skier and outdoor enthusiast. I'm still growing in my swimming too, recently venturing into open water events. Last year, I wanted to experience what it was like to do a marathon swim so I completed my first 8 miler! As a coach who's training more & more swimmers doing endurance events beyond IM's, it's important to me to be able to understand the hurdles one may encounter & draw from my own experiences.

Whether you prefer customized private sessions, a thorough analysis of your stroke or enjoy learning & swimming in small groups or communities, I offer something for everyone.

I've lived & breathed sport since I was knee-high to a grasshopper! I love how it makes you feel & how satisfying the rewards are for all the hard work you put in. You have to earn it. I also love the quiet confidence it gives you too. Growing up, I was really shy & sport helped me find my strength & I loved that.

I love helping people, so it's no real surprise that I wanted to pass that feeling on to others & to help them find the strength in themselves that perhaps they never knew they had. I see it as my mission to uncover the swimmer in everyone who comes to me. It is the most rewarding & touching moment to watch all of my athletes - whatever their level experience that 'ah ha, I've got it' moment.
